What makes Ella's training different?

Ella’s background in yoga and functional movement gives her coaching a distinctively mindful approach. She creates a space where you can slow down, tune in, and build confidence in your body at your own pace. Her training style is supportive and encouraging, with close attention to technique, body awareness, and how movement feels—not just how it looks.

 

Ella stays up to date with current research in fitness and movement, continually refining her methods so clients receive training that is both effective and informed.

At the core of her work is building a strong, resilient foundation before adding load or intensity. This means:

  1. A strong, functional core — not about six-pack muscles, but about breath, control, and the balance of mobility and stability throughout your joints.

  2. Clear, confident movement patterns — helping your nervous system learn and repeat essential human movements such as squatting, hinging, lunging, pushing, and pulling.

With this foundation in place, and through consistent, progressive training, clients notice meaningful changes not only in strength, but in ease, confidence, and trust in their bodies.

What can I expect in my training with Ella?

Your first session with Ella begins with a relaxed, one-on-one conversation. This is a chance to talk through your goals, movement and medical history, lifestyle, and any concerns or preferences you have. Taking the time to understand you fully allows Ella to design a programme that fits your schedule, supports your abilities, and reflects what you enjoy—so your training feels sustainable, not forced.

Ella’s programming draws from a wide range of movement and strength practices, including:

  • Breath and core-focused work

  • Free weights (kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells and similar)

  • Animal and ground-based movements

  • Mobility work to support joint health and range of motion

  • Metabolic conditioning to support energy and cardiovascular health

  • High-intensity interval training (HIIT)

  • Pilates and functional yoga exercises

 

This varied approach keeps training engaging while improving strength, resilience, and easeful movement in everyday life.

What if I have an injury or a medical condition that can get in the way of exercising?

Ella is passionate about working alongside health professionals to ensure you’re supported by a team, not just a single practitioner. This collaborative approach allows your training to complement any care you’re already receiving and supports your long-term wellbeing.

If you’re managing an injury or health condition, Ella can liaise with your doctor and/or physiotherapist to understand which movements are appropriate and which should be avoided. If you’re experiencing pain or discomfort that hasn’t yet been assessed, she can also refer you to a trusted physiotherapist she works closely with, ensuring you receive the right support at the right time.

Where do we train?

Ella trains clients in a private studio within her home in Campbells Bay, surrounded by trees and native bush. The space is quiet and relaxed, offering a comfortable place to focus on movement without distractions. It’s a simple, supportive environment designed to help you feel at ease as you train.
